David Morhart, ICD.D, MBA, BComm

David is the executive vice president of the BC Investment Management Corporation responsible for stakeholder and client relations.  Previous to this, he had an extensive career in the public service with deputy minister and other senior roles with the Governments of Alberta and British Columbia.  Some specific accomplishments include the redesign of community justice and social support programs and direct service delivery to better meet the needs of citizens.  In addition, he championed a stronger relationship between government and the not-for-profit sectors through the establishment of the Government Non Profit Sector Initiative in BC (GNPI) and similar work with the Alberta Non-profit and Voluntary Sector Initiative (ANVSI).

He holds an ICD.D designation from the Institute of Canadian Directors and has experience with a number of crown agency and non-for-profit boards, specifically in the social service, community support, economic development and innovation sectors.  He is past president and treasurer for the Institute of Public Administration of Canada (IPAC) and received the 2010 IPAC award for excellence and leadership in the public service.

David holds an MBA and BComm in financial management.
